What if you lost the ability to do the things you most enjoyed? Training, walking, running. Typing on your phone or writing with a pen, being able to reach down to tie your shoes, the little things aren't so little.
Tuesday ,March 31 . It's about 7:30 am and it's a bright sunny morning. I'm on the westside highway, driving my wife to work. Traffic is stop and go. Everytime we stop, I can't help but to look to my left a notice all the runners on the river trail. It's a great morning to go running and I want to be out there.......but I can't....I recently reinjured my knee...not being able to do the simple act of running, hurts.
Basketball, one of my favorite activities. Rewind one week, a healthier knee, and I'm shooting hoops at Krank Nutley with coach LJ. I'm recovering from a prior knee injury so I have to restrain from playing at full speed. I miss playing...so much that I'll push just a bit,....and re-injure myself.
Two activities, taken for granted but not completely taken away from me. A reminder to take care of myself, but more importantly a reminder of how much you miss the little things. When taken away, you notice how big they were in you everyday being. The things you take for granted, someone else is praying for.
